As others have said above social media can be a great engagement and positioning building platform.

It will be good to choose ones where your audience or target market hangs out. I predominantly use LinkedIn as that is the place my clients can be seen regularly.

As Andy says above, in using social media, I find it great to really understand the common problems your prospective clients are likely to have and ones they don’t mind admitting in public. Delve into those and offer thoughts and inputs on how they could overcome those. Your audience will find it really valuable and it will enhance your position as someone who is relevant and relates to their problems. If you can articulate this in the words they use or the terms they understand it would be great in establishing connect.

From there you can obviously link it to your offerings and have them engage with you.
